What is Penis Enlargement?
Penis enlargement is the process of increasing the length and girth of the penis. There are many different methods of penis enlargement practiced all over the world. Some examples include manual exercises, using penis extenders, using penis weights and having surgery. One of the main issues with penis enlargement is that there are so many advertisements, articles, videos and resources that it’s difficult to know whether or not it actually works. It doesn’t help that a lot of the claims made by some products are so over the top that you can’t help but lose faith in the industry. Despite this, there is actually plenty of evidence that suggests that penis enlargement can be effective. As well as this there are also thousands of testimonials endorsing enlargement methods and even entire communities based around the concept and practices.
Why Do It?
It’s fair to say that there’s quite an obsession with penis size in society. Whether it’s brought up in conversation, discussed on television, written about in magazine articles or thrust in your face (pardon the pun) in pornography; the topic of penis size seems unavoidable. And there’s always one question that crops up the most: does size matter? Whilst this is a question that gets a different answer depending on who you ask, we can conclusively say that to a lot of men and a lot of women, size does matter. If a man feels like he doesn’t measure up, he may well consider penis enlargement as a solution. To look into this in a little bit more depth, I’ve considered some of the different factors below:
Giving Sexual Pleasure
Many people believe that an above average size penis is better equipped to pleasure them during sexual intercourse. There is also evidence to back this up. For example, this article based on one particular study explains that women who regularly experience vaginal orgasms are likely to climax more easily when having sex with well-endowed partners. One study showed that when choosing an ideal penis size for a one night stand, women preferred to have a penis that was larger than average in girth. The study also showed that for both long-term and short-term sexual partners, women preferred a penis length of 6.5 inches which is larger than the average. Because of positive sexual associations like this, it is understandable why men want bigger penises.
There are also studies and resources such as this one that suggest that an averaged size penis is adequate for many lovers. Although we often hear the old adage “it’s not the size of the ship, it’s the motion of the ocean”, it’s rarer to hear that women prefer a man with a small penis. Some women will not get with a guy or even dump him because he has a small penis. For men with a below average size penis, penis enlargement can be seen as a way of increasing sexual prowess and attractiveness.
Although it’s not entirely clear cut, there is a positive correlation between penis size and attractiveness. If women find a bigger penis more attractive to look at than a smaller penis, it’s only natural for men to want a bigger member.
Many men who suffer from low self-esteem and low self-confidence attribute their lack of confidence to their penis size. This could be as a result of bad sexual experiences, humiliation and embarrassment at some stage in life or it could be the result of a multitude of other factors. Penis size may or may not be the root of the problem but many men see penis enlargement as a way to boost confidence.
Methods of Penis Enlargement
There are many methods of penis enlargement. Whilst not exclusive, I have provided an overview of some of the methods below:
Penis extenders work by stretching the penis via a traction device. By using the traction device sensibly and on a regular basis, the penis grows over time and is able to hold more blood during erections. The good news about penis extenders is that they’re medically backed and proven to increase penis size.
Manual penis exercises involve using the hands to stretch the penis. Gradual stretching over time can result in increased penis length and girth. A penis exercise routine can be approached in a similar way to a standard workout routine. This means that in order to see results, regular exercise sessions will be required. Practitioners should also remember to warm up the penis before exercising and make sure that necessary rest days are taken for recovery to avoid injuring the penis. There are many different penis exercises that can be included in a manual exercise routine. Perhaps the most widely known example is jelqing, a technique that involves using the fingers to lightly push blood from the base of the penis to the tip. If done correctly and sensibly, penis exercises are reported to not only give increased penis size but also stronger erections and better ejaculatory control.
Penis enlargement surgery procedures can be carried out to increase both the length and girth of the penis. Surgery can involve taking fat from an area of the body and injecting it into the penis. Another method involves cutting the ligament that attaches the penis to the pelvic bone. Unfortunately the results from surgery aren’t usually very significant if there are any at all. On top of this, surgery comes with significant risks. It can result in disfiguration, loss of sensitivity, infections, nerve damage, loss of erection angle and more.
Penis pumps, also known as vacuum devices, require the placement of the penis within a suction device. Pumping the device creates a vacuum which draws blood into the penis. This helps to provide an erection and can be used as a treatment for impotence. The short-term benefits of this procedure are widely accepted but some sources state that regular use of penis pumps also have long-term benefits. The theory behind this is that regular pumping of blood to the penis via a device gradually increases the amount of blood the penis can hold. Overtime this helps to produce a bigger pens and harder erections.
Penis weights are hung from the penis in order to stretch it. Because of this, the method is also often referred to as penis hanging. As with many forms of penis enlargement, there are mixed reports as to whether or not this actually works. Some sources report that penis weights will stretch the penis over time whilst others say that there is no medical evidence that weights result in an increased penis size. Most reports on weights do warn of the potential damage that can be done by hanging, however. This damage can include tearing and burst blood vessels.
Penis Enlargement Pills
Penis enlargement pills contain a combination of ingredients which merchants claim will increase penis size. Despite the claims, there is little evidence to show that they work. This is not to say that male enhancement pills should be ruled out altogether, however. Perhaps a better way to approach them would be to be on an individual basis. Some pills won’t contain any useful ingredients and may actually be dangerous. Others, however, may contain the likes of horny goat weed, l-arginine or pomegranate extract which are known for having positive effects on libido and erection strength.
So Does Penis Enlargement Work?
Based on the above, we can safely say that certain methods of penis enlargement are proven to work whilst others are either dangerous, ineffective or both. If you are serious about increasing the size of your penis, you may wish to consider trying either a penis extender, a manual penis exercise program or a penis pump. These methods have the most medical evidence to suggest that they can be effective. They also allow for a considerable amount of user control so you can manage the amount stress being placed on the penis.
If you decide to try enlarging your penis, it is imperative that you make your penis health your priority. There is no use in enlarging your penis if you damage it in process. Penis enlargement should be approached in a sensible and cautious manner. Legitimate programs and products come with instructions as to how to safely follow the routine or use the device. Ensure that these are studied thoroughly before you begin and consult them whenever necessary. As with any physical routine, make sure you seek advice from a medical professional before you begin and consult them with any queries, questions or problems.
